Rafting, Hiking & Biking

River Orchard Place is located in Poncha Springs which is known as "the crossroads of the Rockies."  It is surrounded by some of Colorado's 14,000 ft peaks and is home to the headwaters of the Arkansas River. World class rafting, hiking, and biking can be had within 10 minutes of the front door of your cabin.

Rafting

The Arkansas River is home to world-class rafting, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), and other boating activities.  Salida is host to the annual FibArk - America's Oldest and Boldest Whitewater Festival - held in June which features boating events from freestyle kayaking to the Hooligan in which contestants float the river in their own creative crafts (www.fibark.com).
